Appliora is an online CV builder that helps users create, edit, preview and export professional CVs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal data when you use our website and services.
We care about privacy. Your CV may contain sensitive personal and professional information, so we aim to process only the data that is necessary to provide the service.

2. What is Appliora?
Appliora is a web-based CV builder. Depending on the features available at the time you use the service, Appliora may allow you to:
- create and edit a CV;
- choose a CV template;
- preview your CV;
- export your CV as a PDF;
- generate or suggest CV text;
- create a cover letter;
- save CV data locally in your browser;
- use future account, payment or AI-powered features if they are enabled.
3. What personal data do we process?
The personal data we process depends on how you use Appliora.
3.1 CV content provided by you
When you create a CV, you may enter information such as:
- first name and last name;
- job title;
- email address;
- phone number;
- country, city, address and postal code;
- LinkedIn profile;
- website or portfolio link;
- work experience;
- education;
- skills;
- languages;
- certifications;
- projects;
- achievements;
- references;
- photo;
- any other information you choose to include in your CV or cover letter.
You decide what information to include. Please do not enter information that you do not want to appear in your CV.
3.2 Technical data
When you visit our website, we may process basic technical data such as:
- IP address;
- browser type and version;
- device type;
- operating system;
- approximate location based on IP address;
- pages visited;
- date and time of visit;
- error logs and security logs.
This data may be processed for security, debugging, analytics and service improvement.
3.3 Local browser data
Appliora may save your CV data in your browser’s local storage so that you can continue editing your CV on the same device and browser.
This means that, unless account sync or cloud saving is enabled, your CV data is stored locally on your device and is not automatically uploaded to our servers.
You can clear this data by using the “Start over” or similar function in Appliora, or by clearing your browser storage.
3.4 Account data, if accounts are enabled
If user accounts are enabled in the future, we may process:
- email address;
- password or authentication identifier;
- account settings;
- saved CV documents;
- login information;
- account activity.
Passwords, if used, should be stored securely using appropriate security measures. We will not store plain text passwords.
3.5 Payment data, if paid features are enabled
If paid downloads or paid features are enabled, payment processing may be handled by a third-party payment provider such as Stripe or another payment processor.
We do not intend to store full payment card numbers on our own servers. Payment providers may process payment details, billing information and transaction data according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
3.6 AI-generated content, if AI features are enabled
If you choose to use AI-powered features, such as AI summary generation or cover letter generation, the information needed to generate the requested output may be sent to an AI service provider.
This may include CV content such as your job title, skills, work experience, education and other information you provide.
AI features should be used only if you agree that the necessary content may be processed for generating the requested text.
4. Why do we process your personal data and what is the legal basis?
We process personal data only when we have a valid legal basis.
4.1 Providing the service
Purpose: To allow you to create, edit, preview, save and export your CV or cover letter.
Data used: CV content, local browser data, template choices and related service data.
Legal basis: Performance of a contract or taking steps before entering into a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
4.2 Local saving of your CV
Purpose: To remember your CV data in your browser so you can continue editing it later on the same device.
Data used: CV content and editor state saved in local storage.
Legal basis: Performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and/or legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in providing a convenient user experience.
4.3 Customer support and communication
Purpose: To respond to your questions, feedback, bug reports or support requests.
Data used: Name, email address, message content and any information you include in your communication.
Legal basis: Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract or performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in responding to user enquiries.
4.4 Security and fraud prevention
Purpose: To protect Appliora, users and systems from misuse, attacks, spam, fraud and unauthorized access.
Data used: Technical data, logs, IP address, browser/device information and activity data.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in keeping the service secure.
4.5 Analytics and service improvement
Purpose: To understand how Appliora is used, fix bugs, improve usability and develop better features.
Data used: Usage data, device/browser data, aggregated statistics and error reports.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR where required by law for non-essential cookies or analytics tools.
4.6 AI features, if used
Purpose: To generate CV summaries, cover letters or other text requested by you.
Data used: CV content and prompts necessary to generate the requested output.
Legal basis: Performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR when AI generation is part of the requested service, and/or your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR where required.
4.7 Payment and accounting, if paid features are enabled
Purpose: To process payments, issue receipts, manage access to paid features and comply with accounting and tax obligations.
Data used: Contact data, billing data, transaction records and payment provider references.
Legal basis: Performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and compliance with legal obligations under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
4.8 Legal compliance
Purpose: To comply with applicable laws, tax rules, accounting obligations, legal claims or requests from competent authorities.
Data used: Data necessary for the specific legal obligation.

5. Do we share your CV with recruiters or employers?
No.
We do not share your CV, cover letter or personal information with employers, recruiters or recruitment agencies unless you explicitly request it or give clear consent.
Appliora is designed as a CV creation tool, not a recruitment database.
6. Who may have access to your personal data?
Depending on the features used, your data may be processed by trusted service providers who help us operate Appliora.
These may include:
- hosting providers;
- email providers;
- analytics providers;
- error monitoring providers;
- payment providers, if paid features are enabled;
- AI service providers, if AI features are used;
- legal, accounting or tax service providers, if necessary.
These providers may process personal data only as necessary for the relevant purpose and according to applicable data protection rules.
For production traffic to Appliora on our public domain, the site is hosted on Vercel, Inc. (United States). Where enabled in our project, Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights collect aggregated usage and performance metrics (such as page views and technical timings). That processing is governed by Vercel’s documentation and privacy policy.
7. International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.
If personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we will rely on appropriate safeguards where required, such as an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms under GDPR.
8. How long do we keep your data?
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
8.1 CV data stored locally
If your CV is stored only in your browser local storage, it remains on your device until you delete it, clear your browser storage, or use a reset/delete function in Appliora.
8.2 Account data, if accounts are enabled
If accounts are enabled, account data and saved CVs may be kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your account data within a reasonable period unless we must keep certain data for legal reasons.
8.3 Support messages
Support emails and messages may be kept for as long as necessary to resolve the request and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping and quality purposes.
8.4 Payment and accounting data
If paid features are enabled, payment and accounting data may be kept for the period required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
8.5 Security logs
Security and technical logs are kept only for as long as necessary for security, debugging and fraud prevention.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
Appliora may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies.
We may use them to:
- make the website work correctly;

- save CV editing data locally;

13. Children’s privacy
Appliora is not intended for children under the age of 16.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 16 without appropriate consent, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible.
14. Automated decision-making
Appliora does not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
AI-generated suggestions, if enabled, are only content assistance tools. You remain responsible for reviewing, editing and deciding whether to use any generated text.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make significant changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify users through the website or by email if we have their email address.
