Interview questions and answers - how to prepare
Preparing for an interview isn't about memorising answers - it's about having concrete examples ready. Here are the questions that come up most often, and how to approach them.
The most common questions
- "Tell me about yourself." Keep it short: who you are professionally, what you're good at, what you're looking for.
- "Why do you want to work here?" Show you know the company and what you can add.
- "What are your strengths?" Pick 2-3 and back each with an example.
- "And your weaknesses?" Name a real one you're working on - not a cliche.
- "Where do you see yourself in a few years?" Show a direction that fits the role.
The STAR method
For experience questions, answer with STAR: Situation (the context), Task (what needed doing), Action (what you did) and Result (the outcome, ideally with a number). It keeps answers concrete and convincing.
One last thing
Prepare 2-3 questions of your own - it signals genuine interest. Ask about the team, the onboarding, or the biggest challenge in the role right now.

How should I answer the salary expectations question?
Give a range based on market data and note that the final number depends on the scope. Dodging the question tends to work against you.
The STAR method also works for technical interviews - describe the problem you solved instead of listing technologies.
