ATS-friendly CV for Europe: what you can actually control
ATS software differs between employers. You can still control whether your PDF contains real text, a logical reading order and recognizable section headings.
The checks you can control
- Keep text selectable and searchable.
- Use standard headings and date formats.
- Put role, employer and dates together in each experience entry.
- Keep important information out of images and decorative shapes.
What ATS advice cannot promise
No template or checker can guarantee that a specific employer's system will rank a CV or that a recruiter will respond. Treat parsing feedback as a diagnostic signal, then review the document yourself.
Export and inspect
Open the final PDF, search for your name and copy a full section into plain text. If the order is scrambled or text is missing, fix the source and export again.
